MT. STERLING, Ohio - Authorities arrested two teenagers who they said stole a truck and rammed it into a police cruiser while trying to evade arrest Tuesday night.
The pickup truck was traveling southbound in northbound lanes of Interstate 71 when it struck a sport utility vehicle operated by a Mount Sterling police officer. None of the people involved suffered injuries.
The crash closed northbound traffic near the Franklin/Pickaway County line at about 9 p.m. The highway was reopened to vehicles shortly before 11 p.m.
The pursuit started in Mount Sterling on U.S. Route 62, 10TV's Kevin Landers reported. It progressed eastward to I-71, where the two teenagers then used an exit ramp to enter the northbound lanes.
Franklin County Sheriff's Deputy Chad Thompson said the driver lost control of the truck, hit the center median of the highway and struck the Mount Sterling police car.
Deputy Thompson said that truck was stolen in Washington Court House.
